A delicious, healthy snack is best shared with friends, so when Kristen Bell’s favorite high-protein snack bowl showed up on her friend, celebrity stylist Nicole Chavez’s, Instagram story, we took notice. Chavez recently shared her “post-walk snack,” which she said she “stole” from Bell, on Instagram. Bell reposted the story, declaring the tomato-topped cottage cheese bowl her “favorite high-protein snack.”
We’re all too familiar with the health benefits of cottage cheese, a high-protein dairy item that’s delicious topped with fresh fruit for sweetness or mixed with diced veggies and dill for flavor. We also love cottage cheese bowls because they’re so versatile. Whether those tasty curds are topped with berries or a soft-cooked egg, the possibilities are endless and pretty delicious.
Bell’s favorite way to enjoy the fresh, creamy cheese in bowl form is simple and uses just five ingredients. To make it, add cottage cheese to a bowl and top with a drizzle of olive oil, seasoned salt, pepper and cherry tomatoes.
The Nobody Wants This star prefers Good Culture cottage cheese, a brand we found to make both the best cottage cheese overall and the best low-fat cottage cheese variety when we had our big cottage cheese taste test. But whichever brand you prefer, cottage cheese is a great way to add protein to everything from breakfast toast to pasta sauce.
And since tomatoes pack some great health benefits as well, like reducing heart disease and cancer risk and improving skin and digestive health, Bell’s cottage cheese bowl is a great dish to snack on and share with friends and family members.
Over the years, Bell has been a source of lots of healthy meal ideas. And because she’s a busy mom and actress, her picks are often perfect for grabbing on the go. In addition to a good cottage cheese bowl, the Veronica Mars star has said she’s a fan of matcha lattes, egg white-based breakfast dishes, Greek yogurt and hearty salads to fuel her day.
