This Beloved Trader Joe’s Snack Is Back for Just $2.99

Just in time for summer entertaining, Trader Joe’s brought back a fan-favorite snack that you’re going to want to snag before they run out. This is especially pressing because a PSA from a customer announcing the latest snack drop went viral on TikTok this week.

“I’m about to have a full-fledged breakdown at Trader Joe’s, you will not believe what’s back on the shelf” TikTok user @acekberg said in her video, which now has over one million views. “I have been waiting two years for these.”

The snack in question is the Trader Joe’s Patio Potato Chips, a seasonal find that have been off the shelves for two years. They’re not just your standard potato chips, as these chips are a variety bag including a mix of your favorite chip flavors.

Within each bag of TJ’s Patio chips, you will find salt and vinegar, dill, ketchup and sweet barbeque flavored potato chips. This mix is perfect for parties, beach days, pool lounging or to have on hand beside a bright and refreshing tomato sandwich this season.  

The best part besides their savory burst of flavors? They’re only $2.99 a bag, a price beating out some popular name-brand chips nowadays. So we can understand why fans of the chain are especially hyped up about this return. One commenter said that “I bought them four hours ago and the bag is completely empty,” and another wrote that they were “out the door” after finding out these chips were back. Honestly, after writing this up, I may or may not be packing my things to make a Trader Joe’s run to try and find these viral chips. 

But don’t worry: if you don’t live near a TJ’s, there are some other potato chip options you can try that are similar, per the comments of the above video. Some say that Zapp’s Voodoo Chips (or “people chips”—if you know, you know) and Lay’s All Dressed are similar to the fan-favorite chips, and these bags are available at most grocery stores.

Better yet, try making potato chips at home with your favorite seasonings and flavors to personalize your blend. It’s a great way to control the seasonings and sodium levels to your liking, and homemade chips can be just as good (if not more delicious) than storebought.
