What Makes You Special? – Private Label Fitness | Branded Fitness

So… what make you so special?

No really—what makes you stand out?

If you just froze for a second, you’re not alone. This question stops a lot of fit pros in their tracks.

Sure, you’ve got certifications. Maybe even a degree or two. Definitely some serious experience under your belt.

But guess what? So do millions of other health and fitness professionals.

And sure—you’ve got strong opinions about training styles, proper form, and programming (who doesn’t?).

But so do all the influencers, YouTubers, podcasters, and TikTok “experts” flooding the internet these days.

When we’re building websites or launching new digital platforms for our fitness partners, this is always the very first question we ask:

What makes you UNIQUE?

And let me tell you—it’s not always an easy one to answer.

This question can feel like it’s poking at your soul:

“Who am I, really? What’s my purpose? Why am I even doing this?”

(Okay, maybe that’s a bit dramatic—but it happens!)

But don’t worry—we’ve got a much easier way to think about it.

We tend to overthink the “unique” question—like we have to be unlike anyone else on Earth.

Relax.

Your future clients aren’t comparing you to the entire world of fitness professionals.
They’re just comparing you to a few other local options, maybe an online trainer or two.

That’s it.

So your job?

Just be the obvious choice for your corner of the world.

Let’s figure out how.

Here’s what we ask our partners:

“Why would you hire yourself?”

Seriously—what do you bring to the table that makes you your own top pick?

Think about your local competition. You probably know them well.  You know what they offer, how they market themselves, and what kind of clients they attract.

But at the end of the day—you’d still hire YOU, right?

So… why?

Those reasons—the ones you just thought of in your head—that’s your magic.

That’s what makes you different. That’s what makes you special.  And it’s exactly what your future clients need to hear from you.

You don’t have to be for everyone—and honestly, you shouldn’t be.

Are you a no-excuses, results-driven, “let’s get after it” kind of coach?

Awesome. Own it.

Are you a compassionate, meet-you-where-you-are, cheerleader-style coach?

That’s amazing, too.

Do you work with a specific group—like golfers, new moms, seniors, or athletes?

Perfect.

People are looking for exactly what you offer. But they won’t know you’re the one for them unless you say it loud and proud.

When we ask, “What makes you unique?”, we’re really just saying:  Tell us why someone should choose you.

Keep it simple. Keep it honest. Don’t overthink it.

And remember—you’re not just selling sessions or classes… you’re offering a one-of-a-kind experience.

Make sure people know what that experience feels like.
